My name is Maria Huertas (also known as Mary Huertas), a Masters-level clinician in emotional and holistic counseling with a license as an alcohol and drug counselor. My background is based on a practical combination of my education and work experiences. These have equipped me with the necessary tools to effectively instruct and assist people toward social, emotional, and personal development. I have maintained the highest performance standards across a diverse range of functions. These qualities also help me work well with the community and attend to their individual needs. I have extensive work experience in trauma, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. I work for an in-home therapy provider for the CBHI program and as an outreach individual therapist. I was also the director of a non-profit children's foundation. My mission is to provide an opportunity for underserved children, young people, families, and individuals to promote and strengthen their mental, spiritual, and physical health. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, social-emotional learning, music, art, and movement therapy. I am a nonjudgmental individual who recognizes the importance of building a relationship with clients in order to establish realistic and attainable goals together.
